» JetBlue to offer Wi-Fi on Flights
While the FCC (Federal Communications Commission) has not authorized Wi-Fi on domestic flights within the United States, they are now allowing JetBlue to have Wi-Fi on international flights, after JetBlue won an auction that licensed Wi-Fi in-flight.
For $7 million, JetBlue was given a 1-megahertz wireless license, according to the Wireless Report. JetBlue already offers live satellite television in flight, and they plan to integrate Wi-Fi into that offering.
JetBlue could become the flight-of-choice for people looking to use the Internet while on a plane.
While it may only be used while on an international flight, I'm sure that this is the first step to having Wi-Fi on every flight, regardless of the destination. JetBlue is one of the few profitable airline companies around, and they are doing a great job of making flying an even more enjoyable experience for their passengers
