It works- WinXP on Mactel platform

It was just a matter of time before this happened. Ever since the Mactel machines came out on the market, techs around the globe have been trying to find a way to run the Windows operating system on this new platform.
And now, someone has managed to do it. And, to make the solution even more attractive, your Mactel is dual-bootable into either OS X or Windows XP.
The solution was originally reported just a few days ago. It has now been confirmed and validated to work properly, meaning narf2006 is well on his way to claiming almost US$14,000 in prize money--thanks to contest donations from companies and individuals alike who contributed voluntarily to the contest in the hopes it would pay off.
The physical implementation of the solution is not too difficult, but it does require a few steps. You can read all about how to do it on the Ars Technica link below, or at the OnMac.net website.
The solution submitted by narf2006 requires a copy of Windows XP Professional SP2 to be available. It doesn't have to be bootable, just contain everything on the CD. It requires the xom.zip file (presumably available from OnMac.net), Nero's Burning ROM software running on a PC, and about 30 minutes to put the disc together and burn it. The solution explains each step, but it still may be a bit much for many users. However, when you're finished working it all out, this solution will allow your Mactel to boot into either OS X or WinXP based on a boot-time menu selection--offering the best of both worlds.
