WordPress.com Opens Its Doors

It looks like WordPress (GPL-licensed) now has its own hosted domain, something that (Google owned) Blogger.com is usually associated with. The thought being bandied about the Internet (or "Internets" if you prefer) is that this is shaping up to be a relatively nice alternative to Blogger.com.
We'll see how that works out, but for now, a hosted WordPress.com account might be something to look into if you're thinking of starting a blog. Some of the new features being touted:
1. The inclusion of AJAX scripts (think G-Mail).
2. A full-featured WYSIWYG option that allows you to drag-and-drop images to your post.
3. A new dashboard that shows you the top WordPress blogs, the fastest growing WordPress blogs, and the top posts from the WordPress world.
I've been trying this out for a while and so far I quite like it. The interface seems clean and it's definitely easy enough for the novice-blogger to use. If you want to try this out you may want to register an account soon, as it looks like they may start to limit new users to make sure they don't have any scalability issues.
