Normally, the release of an updated version of some PalmOS software might not be a momentous
occasion, but I think the release of Callfilter 1.3 may prove the exception to the rule. Callfilter is a phenomenal piece of software that had really helped me to stay productive with my old Treo 600 smartphone. When I upgraded to the 650, I learned that Callfilter 1.2 was incompatible with the updated Treo.
With the release of Callfilter 1.3 (free upgrade for previous users) comes Treo 650 compatibility, and a whole slew of new features. Some of the new options include:
1. Location Lookup - If you receive a phone call from someone that is not in your contact list, you can now have Callfilter instantly tell you what the nearest city is relative to the caller.
2. Velocity Player - This is callfilter's version of its own ringtone player. Now you don't have to have Pocket tunes installed in order to use mp3 and wav ringtones.
3. Outgoing call filtering - By allowing you to block international/long distance calls, you can make sure that your phone is used the way you intended.
There are a multitude of features included with the update and if you have a Treo 600/650, I would definitely suggest giving it a look.
