CBS, NBC to Offer TV Shows for 99 Cents lost

According to an AP report. "CBS and NBC have announced deals to offer replays of prime-time programs for 99 cents per episode, shifting television toward a sales model that gained popularity with downloaded music." But the shows will only be available over Comcast on Demand, not for download.

This means that in one way or another, all three major networks now have a stake in the on-demand field of programming. For consumers, this along with using a Tivo, can be a huge time saver. You can now watch a particular show that you want, when you want (sometimes without any commercials!). I can't help but think that as consumers are able to pin-point the shows they want to watch, the TV networks are going to pour more and more money into fewer and fewer shows..of course we'll all see how this plays out.
